A written statement of employment must be issued not later than two months after they begin their employment.
If you have already provided a written contract of employment or letter of engagement containing all of the items required in this statement, there is no need for a statement to be provided as well.
Employers who issue written contracts or letters of engagement which do not cover all the items required may wish to expand them in future. Statements do not need to be provided for employees who are employed for less than one month.
Remember, if you have already made verbal or written commitments to your employee, eg a start date or salary, you must enter the same information within this document.
